The BMW X5 has a 21.9-gallon gas tank, this is available in each 2022 X5 trim level that’s specifically powered by the gas engine only. However, the xDrive45e hybrid trim uses an 18.2-gallon gas tank capacity that’ll be teamed up with a standard engine with an electric motor to finish the hybrid build. Even though the 18.2-gallon fuel tank is smaller than the standard gas tank, they’re both ideal capacities for the 2022 X5.
The 2022 BMW X5 has a driving range of over 500 miles, which means drivers will have so much fun out on the road. The mileage numbers of the two standard X5 trim levels, such as the xDrive40i and sDrive40i, will get 21 miles per gallon around the city, 26 miles per gallon cruising on the highway, and 23 mpg when you combine those two numbers. But the stronger 2022 BMW X5 M model should get 13 miles per gallon in the city and 18 mpg cruising on the highway, meaning a combined 15 miles per gallon in the more capable version.
The 2022 X5 uses a 3.0-liter BMW M TwinPower Turbo inline 6-cylinder that makes 335 horsepower. This 3.0L engine is the base option in the impressive 2022 BMW X5 model lineup. The next best engine is the 4.4L BMW M TwinPower Turbo V-8 that produces 523 hp for the M50i model of the 2022 BMW X5 and 600 hp for the 2022 X5 M. With each engine having its own specific abilities, all you have to do is choose the journey ahead.
