Keyless entry systems on a vehicle, sometimes named passive entry systems, come with a variety of important benefits. The most popular bonus of a keyless entry system is the convenience it supplies. To be clear, Keyless Ignition and Remote Start are different features, even if they return similar results. Keyless Ignition lets you start your car without needing a regular key. Remote Ignition lets drivers start their car through their key fob. Remote Start is helpful in extreme temps such as very cold or very hot days by letting you start the car and help cool it off when it’s hot. You’ll no longer climb into a cold vehicle again, simply use the Remote Start and warm it up before you drive away.
A Smart Key is an electronic way (fob, smartphone app, key card) that is used to access a car remotely. The buttons for your Remote Start, Keyless Entry, and other functions are found on the Smart Key itself. The Smart Key then sends radio signals to the car to open the hatch, unlock the doors, and so on. Some cars will not start without the Smart Key, as they are part of the anti-theft system.
