BMW Announces November Sales Results
Earlier this month, BMW announced that the automaker had sold 28,049 new vehicles in the United States during the month of November, marking a 7.1 percent sales increase over results for November of 2016. The months standout performance was turned in by the 5 Series, which handed in a fifth consecutive month of improving gains by selling 4,002 vehicles — a remarkable 255.4 percent improvement over November 2016 sales!
BMW Sports Activity Vehicles also performed well, with the X4 gaining 33.6 percent, the X6 up 31.2 percent, and the X5 increasing sales by 17.5 percent. Consumer demand for BMW Pre-Owned vehicles continues to show strong results for the year, as the company has sold 217,044 pre-owned cars — a 3.1 percent increase from the first 11 months of 2016. In a press release, Bernhard Kuhnt, President and CEO, BMW of North America, commented, November ended in a strong way for us at BMW. This week at the LA Auto Show, we gave everyone a view of whats to come and now the November sales result has given us the perfect lead-in to what is always the most important sales month of the year, December.
The indicators for the coming months give us optimism especially as the popular new X3 is now launching across the U.S., the new 5 Series continues building momentum, and BMW Group electrified vehicles accounted for nearly 6% of sales in November.
